Synthetic Biography
Architect, graduated from the Polytechnic of Turin in 1981, Giancarlo Pavoni is owner and founder of the ArTech Studio and professor of Technology of Architecture at the Bovisa Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan since 1999 and at the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic of Turin since 2010. From 1997 to 2002 he taught Architectural Design at the European Institute of Design in Turin.
From 1984 to 1994 he lectured on Environmental Design for ENEA, in courses and specialisation master degrees for regional authorities and professional Orders.
Designer and town planner of public and private works, among his more significant jobs to date are complex programmes of urban and environmental requalification like the District Contracts for Pinerolo, Borgaro and Orbassano and “Via Parenzo” for the City of Turin and A.T.C. (Social Housing Agency).
Others include the restoration of buildings owned by the Social Housing Institute in Lombardia, trial and innovation projects within bioclimatic architecture and eco-sustainable fields, like the residential building in Corsico in the Province of Milan for I.A.C.P. Milan.
Yet others include sports facilities like the restoration of “Ruffini” Turin Sports Hall and new Sports and Exhibition Hall in Orbassano, malls, private, public and special uses residences, social-housing buildings in Moncalieri, Chieri, Borgaro, Beinasco and Orbassano, public buildings for administrative, social and cultural purposes, like a new Library and new Town Hall eco-building in Grugliasco, restoration of architectural and cultural heritage, as the recovery of all eighteenth-century “Villa Gay di Quarti” in Grugliasco, the restoration and expansion of the City Hall Frossasco (TO), the restoration and consolidation of the Old Church of SS. Peter and Paul in Chianocco (TO), as well as piazzas and urban parks.
Author and co-author of around sixty publications, he has had several reviews of his works and projects in magazines and has participated in national and international architecture contests.
